Meet the Experts
Sommelier Jessica Salyer
For the over 13 years that Wine Director Jessica Salyer has been part of the Cúrate family, she has been an avid student of Spanish wine, building deep expertise in the country’s regions, grape varieties, and traditional methods. Under Felix’s initial guidance, she began exploring Spain’s regions and stylistic approaches. She is drawn to the breadth of Spanish wines: complex, Burgundian-like reds, traditional method Cavas that can rival Champagne, and Sherry's remarkable range and versatility.
As Cúrate’s Wine Director and head of the wine club, she selects wines that highlight Spain’s regional diversity, value, and heritage, and she designs club selections and tastings that help members deepen their knowledge and enjoyment of Spanish wine.

Jessica's Expertise & Certifications
Jessica keeps active within Spain’s wine scene, making the trip to Spain two to three times a year to attend the Barcelona Wine Week conference, taking part in seminars that spotlight trends and emerging voices, especially female winemakers. She maintains ongoing relationships with regional DOs and organizations like Food and Wines of Spain, which help her track innovations and emerging trends. Lately she has been closely following how producers adapt to climate change, from new vineyard practices to altitude-driven sites, and she looks for wineries that combine innovation with a strong sense of place.
