Said to be the original pintxo, the Gilda was born in San Sebastián in the years after World War II and named for Rita Hayworth’s sultry character in the 1946 film Gilda. Like its namesake, it’s a little spicy, a little salty, and utterly irresistible.
A barroom favorite across Basque Country, the Gilda Pintxo is also one of our most beloved, longtime Cúrate starters, and has recently been embraced on contemporary menus!
