Re-order or gift the April Cúrate Wine Club Shipment, or give the Wine Club a try by ordering a previous month's shipment.

For April, the Cúrate Spanish Wine Club is all about unique and interesting grapes of Spain, and wines that are perfect for the warmer weather approaching!

First up, we have an Albariño that spends about 20 days in contact with the skins to develop a really special texture, flavor, and color. You’ll find the acid and freshness that is typical of Albariño, with the addition of tannins and a rounded mouth. This is definitely what I would reach for on a warm Spring day.

Next is a red made with Trepat, a grape native to Catalunya that is mostly known for producing sparkling rosé cava. I love finding a red wine that pairs well with seafood, and this one is perfect for that! I'd recommend adding a little chill before you pour a glass.

Lastly we’ve included Cubos de Paramo, made from 100% Prieto Picudo. This grape is indigenous to Castilla y León, but just about all of the vineyards producing it have been ripped up in the last century! José Antonio Garcia’s latest project is using organic farming to reclaim some viticultural heritage of this region by focusing on growing and producing Prieto Picudo. The flavor is often compared to tempranillo, but for me it brings spice, earth, and mineral notes. For April, we've included a recipe to pair with this wine – Pizza de Esparragos Blancos y Verdes (White and Green Asparagus Pizza) – so make sure you check it out!

Enjoy these wines and the sunny days ahead!

Re-order or gift the June Cúrate Wine Club Shipment, or give the Wine Club a try by ordering a previous month's shipment.

For the month of May, we partnered with our good friends and importers, Olé & Obrigado to bring you a trio of beautiful wines from their catalog. The Cúrate crew has worked with Olé for many years, sourcing wines for the restaurants and even worked alongside co-founder Patrick Mata for our Chef's Club pop-up in NYC. We're so excited for you to try these three wines!

Oro de Castilla, from Bodegas Hermanos del Villar, is made in a classic style to showcase the bright, fresh, and mineral flavors of the Verdejo grape. Vineyards are planted at a high elevation, overlooking the town of Rueda, planted in a bed of river stones covering a limestone soil. The name in English translates to "the Gold of the Castile." Many people consider Oro de Castilla a reference point for Verdejo – it's a must try!

A Portela showcases the special terrior of Valdeorras in a rare way, as the region is now known primarily for white wine production. This aromatic Mencia is a perfect introduction to the hallmark red grape of Galicia, produced by a winemaker who strives to keep the past alive.

Lastly, a pure and elegant expression of Ribera del Duero – Vizcarra Senda de Oro Roble. This wine is made with gravity-fed winemaking and meticulous attention to detail. Senda del Oro showcases the freshness and minerality that is so often obscured with over-extraction in Ribera.

The passion of winemakers and farmers is infused into the soul of every wine. According to importer Núria Garrote-i-Esteve, their touch lends the most important and distinguishing factors to the final product. The important decisions of when to pick, how to treat the plans, how to prune, where to grow which varietals, how to blend them together - or decide not to. All of these choices bring humanity to wine production. In building her portfolio, Núria looks for wines that tell a story of place and of a vision. It's important that the producers she works with love what they do, and don't hesitate to pour their soul into the wines.

In Spain, wine is food. It belongs on the table next to every meal. Tasting it is an experience of the place and people that make it. We hope to share that same ethos with our club members through these stories, education, maps and more.

A cava that breaks the molds. Ideal for appetizers, cold meats, fish, shellfish, cheeses and white meats. Dry and elegant. Harmonic, fresh, well-balanced with well integrated carbonic. Long and persistent finish.

Raimon Badell is making biodynamic and organic vintage Cava from his estate in Alt Penedès, which which is located entirely with the national protected area of the Massís del Garraf. The grapes (Xarel·lo, Macabeu, Parellada, & Chardonnay) are hand harvested, fermented in stainless steel, and the resulting wine undergoes a second fermentation in the bottle, where it then ages on its lees for more than 24 months. Raimon elaborates Valldolina Cavas with 0 dosage, thus qualifying it as Brut Nature, with less than 1 gr/L of residual sugar.

With a production of ~2000 bottles, this wine expresses the personality inherent to some over 75 year-old vines from the Massís del Garraf. It is a dry wine, mineral and saline. A Xarel·lo with mountain aromas.

The grapes for this 100% Xarel·lo come from 75-year-old vines planted on chalky soil in the Massís del Garraf, a protected mountain range to the southwest of Barcelona that straddles the Mediterranean Sea. The Xarel·lo is vinified with wild yeasts in 300 liter French oak barrels, 25% of which are new.

The name Cargol Treu Vi comes from the lyrics of a Catalan children's song:

    Cargol treu banya,
    Puja a la muntanya.
    Cargol treu vi,
    Puja al muntanyí.

Intense black currant, cherry pit and licorice aromas are complemented by hints of cola and black pepper. Sharply focused dark berry flavors are lifted by a jolt of smoky minerality and a repeating peppery note. Opens up slowly with aeration, picking up a floral quality that carries through a long, fruit-driven finish.

The Sousón for the Flower & the Bee is hand harvested, then macerated at a low temperature in contact with the skins.  Alcoholic fermentation takes place in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks using wild yeasts, with periodic pump overs and punch downs. The Flower & the Bee spends four months in oak barrels, where it rounds out until it is bottled on a Fruit Day according to the biodynamic calendar.
